Awesome, a 3DO review, and it's a game I know pretty well!

Actually I've played the Sega CD version a lot more, which has the advantage of unlimited continues but video quality poor enough to cause real problems with the gameplay. Then again, when I beat the game, I used the severe compression artifacts to help me ID what enemy was coming next.

If I take on the 3DO version I'll have to play it with a gun, as the game gets frustrating enough without dealing with a sluggish cursor. It comes so close to being a very good game but those later levels are downright unfair.

Totally agreed about the wonderful time-capsule quality of FMV games like these. It's such a trip to look back on that era -- so full of 'tude, yet somehow innocent.

Great review of a game I had never heard of. Is it as good as Lethal Enforcers? It is a real shame that the lcd tv system killed off these fun peripherals.

The visuals are more dynamic and interesting in Crime Patrol, but the Genesis game is sharper and controls much better.

Crime Patrol was made by American Laser games. They were a great fun company. I am sure they did those duffers the mad dog macree series. Classically bad games that I loved!
