Sega Taking Losses

Postby VideoGameCritic » May 1st, 2019, 7:05 pm

I just read this article which gives some insight into how poorly Sega has been mismanaged as of late. You know, when people talk about gaming nowdays Sega isn't even in the conversation. It's sad. I don't even know what games they make anymore.

It's no surprise they underestimated the appeal of physical media based on how hard it was to get them to finally release Sonic Mania in that format. And now they're saying they will "shift towards existing IP" even though gamers have been begging them to do that forever. Streets of Rage 4 anyone?

I hope the excellent Sega Ages line will be unaffected.

I'm really hoping they put out a physical Sega Ages collection for Switch similar to the 3DS compilation they released - except with Out Run included in the U.S. release this time.

I was under the impression that at the very least, their Yakuza series was doing really well.
