No Game of Thrones games?

Postby VideoGameCritic » May 8th, 2019, 6:41 pm

Anyone find it odd that there are no Game of Thrones video games? It seems like its sword-and-sorcery subject matter would make for an interesting adventure. Yet there are none that I know of.

I vaguely recall someone telling me that The Witcher was originally supposed to be based on the Game of Thrones, but they pulled the license at the last minute.

There was one. It's not supposed to be very good. There was also a Telltale adventure series like the one for The Walking Dead.

The Witcher was based on an unrelated Polish series of novels from the beginning.

At least three games of thrones games.

One by tell tale a point and click adventure type game. Good but too wordy for its own good. You can download the first episode for free.
Then there was the 360/ps3 rpg. Good story marred by archaic fighting mechanic.

I also know there is an rts game on the pc.
Plus facebook has a flash type game available.

Here's a hack that would be up your alley. Just saw it on instagram. Too bad about the high price.

Game of Thrones would be a difficult one to develop in a manner that would not ruffle some feathers. The TV series had a lot of mature content. Nudity, incest, violence, you name it. A gaming developer would be in a position "damned if they do damned if they do not" regarding developing a game in this universe. If Dead or Alive is considered a highly controversial title, then Game of Thrones could be the nuclear bomb of all titles if developed the way it should be (consistent with the series it derives inspiration from).
