Crash Bandicott N-Sane Trilogy question

Postby VideoGameCritic » May 26th, 2019, 8:03 pm

Does anybody know if the Switch version has a day-one patch requirement? I hate those. I know this one came out after the PS4 version so I'm hoping it does not. The game is now available with a green controller which seems like a good deal.

I have the Switch port and zero day 1 patch as of now, in fact the Switch version unlike the PS4 version both 2017 and 2018 bonus levels version still needs patch updates: https://youtu.be/JmlbGmdomRQ and 2017 PS4 version: https://youtu.be/6I34HfKdrvo:

Also this website is helpful as it tells good info on physical versions with patches or unpatched games. http://www.benoitren.be/switch-gamepatches.html

And the sad part, PS4 version had patches as recent as March 2019 WTH!: http://updatecrazy.com/crash-bandicoot- ... tch-notes/ shows thar PS4 and Xbox One love releasing broken games unlike Switch.

Also, this commercial is so ironic 20 years ago: https://youtu.be/mTi5EaocGaY and this in Japan.: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/0 ... h_in_japan

So you need to apply a patch up front to get the game to work? Or is it optional?
I'm really not interested in buying a game on physical media if it's not self-contained.

To clarify the Switch port has zero patches and works fine. It only applies to the original PS4 version. And even then the PS4 version patches are only optional. So you can get the Switch version and be just fine critic.

I have the PS4 version and whatever patches it has are optional. I've never patched it and it hasn't effected the game in any way that I can tell.

First of all it was the critic wanting to know if the Switch port has a day 1 patch or zero day 1 patches, and the answer was zero day 1 patches for the Switch version. Also, their are technically two versions of Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy on PS4, the 2017 version and the 2018 version.

2017 version: https://youtu.be/6I34HfKdrvo

2018 version: https://youtu.be/JmlbGmdomRQ

The later 2018 version comes with the two free DLC and version 1.04 on disc with later updates being optional.

To properly clarify about updates and day 1 patches for Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy, this is direct screen capture via the Switch share button to prove critic and others that he and others should be fine and not worrying about updates and patches.

Image

This is the first picture what is first shown when you put the cart into the console it says Ver. 1.0.0 nothing more and nothing less.

Image

This is the second picture after selecting Software Update Via the Internet it says "You are using the latest version of this software." and that is it, it been that way since June 2018 when the game first came out last year on Switch and is still like that as of May 28, 2019.

So critic you can buy the green controller game bundle and be just fine.

Picked this up at the local Target other day. As usual it was an adventure getting a person to help you. The people who work there are very nice, but if the one guy in electronics is selling a guy a security system, you're screwed.

Anyway I was surprised they had this because I didn't see it on the shelves or in the glass. Apparently they were sitting in the back for some reason. $50 is a great value for the 3-in-one game and the green controller. I alway use a pro controller with my Switch, so it's nice to have a second one for when friends come over.

I should also mention the controller came with its own charging wire. I thought that was cool, until I realized it had a smaller connector than my other one. So now both pro controller have their own charging cables. Like I don't have enough wires. :/

As it turns out, that's not a charging cable. The green controller is a wired controller. No wonder it was such a good deal. Oh well.
