NEW Intellivision Amico E3 news

Postby ASalvaro » June 3rd, 2019, 5:28 pm

Hello Intellivision Family!
We are very proud to announce that next week at the big E3 video game convention in Los Angeles, the Intellivision® Amico™ will be making its debut behind closed doors! Not only will we have playable machines and controllers but we are also excited to announce that we will be showing off 22 playable games! The reason it will only be seen behind closed doors is because we are still a year and 4 months away from launch and we want to be sure we can take the appropriate time with the appropriate folks to explain our goals. But we will be showing as much as we can as we are so excited about how incredible all of the games are turning out! Our commitment to bring family & friends of all skill levels back together in a room to play video games again is getting closer and closer each and every day.

We are taking a 4-pronged approach to our launch library. These 4 categories will all be represented at E3. Some people believe we are only a "retro" machine...to be clear, this isn't the case. And although classic games do represent a segment of our approach, they are equal to all the others. Here is a breakdown...

25% Classic/Retro - Re-imagined and upgraded favorites (including graphics, audio, modes and of course local Co-Op & Versus modes!)

25% Original IP's - Brand new games that no one has ever experienced and that shows off the fact that Amico has both a touch screen and tactile controls in a multiplayer environment.

25% Sports/Recreation - Not only the sports everyone would expect, but also a lot of casual and recreational sports like bowling, shuffleboard, pool, darts, fishing, etc.

25% Board/Dice/Card/Word/Puzzle Games - Something that most non-hardcore gamers will feel comfortable with and can play with their family & friends.

Whether you're a hardcore gamer, retro gamer, casual gamer or never played a game in your life... there really is something for everyone AND most games will be enjoyed by all skill levels having the opportunity to play together via our Karma Gaming Engine™ (referred to in our launch trailer last year as "Equal Opportunity Gaming").

Remember that ALL of the games are 100% EXCLUSIVE for Amico, created by some of the very best designers, producers and developers in the world. Throughout the rest of this year we'll be releasing more information about the teams and the products they are working on.

We are also happy to announce that we have opened a European office as well as an office in Dubai in the UAE! More info coming soon about the amazing folks we have running those offices. Incredible top industry veterans. Recently we added up all of the video game industry experience that just our top executive and internal creative team has and it added up to over 600 years!

Here is more exciting news: Next week we will also be showing off 5 different color combinations for the console! There may be more on launch, but you'll get a sneak peak at the 5 main ones we are working on.

We can't wait to share more information with you.

Thank you for your continued support and we're really looking forward to sharing some of the amazing hard work that over 300 people around the world and around the clock have been striving to achieve for E3.

This isn't helping your case.

It just tells me that you might be able to compete with the Switch, mobile, and PC as a place for indie quality titles in an already overcrowded market, but right now, there's not enough complete to where you can trust the public with a reveal.

Not answered: Questionable Intellivision branding aside, why should I care as much as you do?
