I've been rediscovering the NEO GEO lately and man the games are so cool and have so much personality..I've been playing alot of Viewpoint and it's such a great game..it's like an updated Zaxxon..the graphics are outstanding and it controls really well

Yes! Viewpoint is one of the most amazing games I ever played in the arcade. It’s such a shame it never got a VC or ACA release. It’s literally the first game I would have bought. Just an amazing game. The Mvs and aes prices are insane but getting the Cd version is something I’m contemplating getting a Neo cd and Viewpoint is basically the reason why

The main reason why it has not yet gotten a VC or ACA release is because Sega (yes that Sega) owns the game thanks to merging with Sammy Corporation back in 2004: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sammy_Corporation and even though Sega owns all of Sammy video game back catalog, in fact Sega used to own/co-own the Guilty Gear series before selling the franchise back to Arc System Works as Sammy/Sega onced co-owned the IP before returning to it original developer. And if you thought Sega abusing it old ips was bad, look at all the former Sammy video game ips that have been sitting in Sega vault for 15 years. In fact Viewpoint along with another great former Sammy game Vice: Project Doom aka Gun-Dec in Japan where both developed by the now defunct Aicom which BTW was bought out by Sammy in late 1990: http://gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index.php/Aicom and merged into Sammy in 1992: https://twitter.com/gdri/status/453630110155800576 and later on Akio Inoue (an ex employee from the Sammy Aicom) would later establish a unrelated company also named Aicom that acted like a SNK second party dev team similar to ADK: http://gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index.php/Yumekobo and mind you that later Aicom that would later be renamed Yumekobo and was best known for developing the critically acclaimed Pulstar and Blazing Star (both game ips owned by SNK fortunately). So my best guess is Viewpoint might get re-released under the Sega Ages line ported by M2 as it technically a Sega IP game even though Hamster has released 108 Neo Geo games out of the 148 official MVS releases along with DotEmu Windjammers port only missing around 39 Neo Geo games as it been currently put on hold: https://nintendoeverything.com/arcade-a ... on-hiatus/ and here are the remains as of 2019: https://old.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch ... _their_is/ some are fesable like the Technōs Japan Corp stuff as Arc System Works owns the Technōs Japan Corp ips and Hamster has done Technōs Japan Corp Arcade Archive releases on Switch and PS4, and Hudson Soft games via Konami as Hamster has done Konami Arcade Archive releases on Switch and PS4 along with the recent Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection from Konami having Hamster emulator tech. And Pop'n Bounce is the only Video System game not on the service despite Hamster buying the Video System backlog: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/0 ... _catalogue and Tecmo World Soccer '96 is owned by Koei Tecmo as Hamster has released Tecmo games on Switch and PS4.

So hope someday Sega and M2 port Viewpoint for Switch under the Sega Ages line.

It's very upsetting. I personally was shocked that games like Pulstar and Blazing Star got ACA releases, which is awesome, and of course hadn't gotten VC releases. It gave me hope for Viewpoint, although I just knew it wasn't coming. It sucked a few months ago realizing there aren't any more games coming out. I know it's the issue with the rights and there's emulation but not having Viewpoint on ACA is a big blow. Also, it would have been awesome if they included some games like Super Dodgeball and Bang Bead. There could have been a lot more interesting things going on with the ACA, but it's like they say, don't give them everything right. It's like when bands always leave one of their hits off the greatest hits album.
