2019/7/21: Xbox One: Forza Horizon 4
This review was a long time coming, but I think it's one of my better ones. Thoughts?

About a month ago, one of my coworkers was generous enough to give me a gaming laptop he was previously working on for a client who - if I remember correctly - didn’t seem to want it. As someone who doesn’t own an Xbox One, it should come in handy when I buy the PC versions of Forza Horizon 3 & 4, especially since I really enjoy the first two Horizon titles on Xbox 360. Your positive review of the latter is good news in my eyes, and I look forward to finally getting my hands on it. Thanks, Critic!

This almost sounds like a hybrid/mish-mash of Forza and Burnout - are those two series from the same developers?

No, Forza Horizon is by the Microsoft owned Playground Games studio located in Great Britain. I believe the core of that development house were originally recruited from Codemasters back around 2010 when the studio was formed (At that time, Codemasters was going through a bit of a rough stretch after losing their way for a while).
But I wouldn't be shocked to learn that several former Criterion Games employees work there (They're the studio behind the Burnout franchise). They were also located in Britain, haven't been a very active developer this last decade, and have let most of their employees go.
So it makes sense that several have probably found their way to Playground Games and are influencing these games.
