I was not expecting Shaq-Fu A Legend Reborn to get any higher than an F grade, and that is saying something. Guess the developers learned from the big mistake from decades ago and learned to pull out a few stops, if not all of it. Not perfect, but it's still a major improvement. Granted I still have fun with Michael Jordan Chaos in the Windy City every now and then since it's eccentric just like myself. I have even mastered the dunk jump move as well which is good for more than just the hoops but those annoying big thugs that block basic shots.

Really intrigued by the Shaq Fu review - it sounds much better than I expected. It's funny, for like 25 years I thought the original Shaq Fu was a side-scrolling brawler too. Not sure where I got that idea from. But then last year I popped it into my Genesis and played it for the first time ever, and then realized that I had no clue what I was talking about. And it was awful. Glad to see that this new game went the beat em up route.. we didn't need another Shaq Fu fighting game.

Onrush was a free download one month on PS4, so I've played that one. The game is by Codemasters who have a long legacy in the racing genre (Micro Machines, Colin McRae, etc.). One unique thing is that none of the races are focused on reaching a finish line and placing 1st, instead focusing on team-based races with other objectives to win (like building up and using your boost meter). Onrush is much stronger online, playing with real teammates and opponents. I think the developers tried to appeal to modern gamers that like competitive team-based shooter games, by putting a new twist on the racing genre. But even so, I think your review is right about how hard it is to figure out what's going on and why you won. I goofed around with the game for like an hour or so one day and then got bored and moved on forever. A D-range score sounds about right to me.

Was amused that Shaq-Fu was brought back, though after trying the Bubsy remake on Switch, I'll hold off on classic "Infamous" games being brought back for modern systems...

Still, there ARE worse games than Shaq-Fu and Bubsy. Hello Heavy Nova, haven't played you in a while to remind me why I appreciate the effort that went into these games to make them...

Read the review, had to click an eBay link and I purchased this game for about $10.

It'll be here on Saturday.

What the hell is wrong with me?

I bought Onrush in Target on clearance and was surprised at how bored I was. I thought it was just me!

OK, Critic -- so, Shaq-Fu came in today. After playing it for an hour, you are right -- this thing is a hoot and much improved over the original. Best $10 I've spent in a long time. This game succeeds very well at what it was intended to be -- a 90s-era button masher with a wicked sense of humor. Thanks for turning me on to this one!

You're welcome Hawgwild!! This is not the kind of game typically embraced by the mainstream, but it's a good time.
