Got a 4K TV!

Postby VideoGameCritic » June 23rd, 2020, 7:29 pm

So I picked up a 65" LG TV today at Best Buy. It's my first 4K model. My old Samsung HDTV started getting vertical lines, and I never really liked that TV anyway.

Pretty good deal

I also ordered an LG 4K disc player.

So this TV is for my family room - not gaming on it so wasn't too concerned with the ports. It's just for TV and movies.

I normally keep my Bose Wave radio hooked up to that TV - it provides much better audio obviously. The problem is, I just discovered my new TV does not have RCA audio out. It does have digital. My BOSE needs RCA. DAG IT!

So... I did a little research and I think I'm going to try this converter. Not sure it's going to work but at $15 I figured it was worth a try. I really don't want to have to buy a sound bar or anything like that.

I'm sure there are some home theatre gurus out there, so feel free to offer any advice. Thanks

I've often wondered about the damn conspiracy that is having the built-in speakers in the REAR on all these modern TV screens. While it would shave off a couple of screen inches, manufacturers could certainly install speakers on the sides facing outwards.

You're almost forced to buy an external sound bar or some other set-up to get quality sound.
