Games as a service and not physical!

Postby Buttermancan » July 24th, 2020, 1:00 pm

Currently I am a Switch and PC gamer, my favourites of this generation have included titles from the underpowered Switch such as Zelda BOTW, Mario Odyssey and Virtua Racing. Ive played some fantastic games on Pc such as Titanfall 1 & 2 and Dirt Rally.

I was thinking of upgrading my pc but it could well be more expensive to do so than buy the series X.
Games as a service has potential to dilute the quality of games over time Ala Netflix. They get you on board with ridiculously low prices to begin with and have diverse content. After reaching the desired number of subscribers they switch to self made content which is often mediocre (or crap) and designed to keep you engaged over the long run.

I love Microsoft's commitment to Backwards Compatibility. I'm a big fan of the old Fight Night games and I love that I'd be able to play Fight Night Champion again but the future is unsettling for me with regards to videogame entertainment! What are your thoughts?
