I was a big fan of the Flintstones live action movie as a kid, but it doesn't hold up so well as an adult. The absolute best thing about the movie is the casting - everyone looks like they were born to play those characters, it's perfect... except Rosie O'Donnell, who just didn't look/act right as Betty.

I had no idea there was a SNES game. Although I shouldn't be surprised, as I had a (incredibly cheaply made) board game based on the movie and the license seemed to end up on everything back then.

The Rocketeer is something I've been interested in checking out in some form, based purely on the artistic style. Nice to know to skip the SNES game!

There is another Flintstones game on SNES, Treasure of Sierra Madrock, which played like a Joe & Mac game.

The Treasure of Sierra Madrock was SIGNIFICANTLY better than the Flinstones - the Movie game. Even with the board game overworld tediousness, it was far, far more enjoyable and true to the source material.

And describing it like a Joe and Mac is VERY accurate; not drastically different from Joe and Mac 2 on SNES.

Rosie O’Donnell would have been better cast as Fred, or Mr. Slate...

In fairness to the movie, I changed one line of review to say "nobody saw it due to poor marketing" instead of "it looked boring"

I'd say that was a good change.

When Inwas youngernit didn't look like something I would enjoy. Haven't watched the film yet to this day, but it does have clips I've seen that are amusing.
