They tried running MLB The Show 20 on PS5, and it was fantastic; 4K, 60FPS all day. Certainly doesn't happen on the PS4 Pro.

I read you can keep the console completely offline and play off of discs! Sounds good to me.

Few systems seem worth the upgrade during their launch.

Right now, what most excites me about the PS5, is how many PS4 games can now run at 60fps with no dips. And some more web-slinging.

But c'mon, an end to long load times? Real time cinematic ray-tracing effects?

And all of this happening at a time when the AAA industry has finally rediscovered the single player experience? And uses the entire palette of colors available to them?

It finally feels like the upgrade Sony promised back when they claimed the PS2 was more powerful than all the computers creating effects for George Lucas.

I've been waiting for 20 years for this thing.

If this is true I may need to reconsider my position.

Am I the only person who doesn’t care much about frame rate drops? If a 60fps game dips to 30 every now and then, I don’t think it’s a big deal at all.

The no-load time thing is impressive, I admit, though not $600 impressive. Lol.

Also, I’m really surprised at the number of people who will be getting BOTH. To me, they are just too expensive and have far too few unique features to warrant both.

Anyone planning to get either new system this year? Xbox Series X just came out today, and PS5 later this week. So far it sounds like everyone is in wait mode here.

I'm doing the waiting game as well. I still have so much to catch up on with my PS4. I'm sure I'll get the PS5 eventually, as long as Sony doesn't have another disaster like they pulled with the PS3. But for now, there's not any killer app pulling me to even consider it. I'll wait for the library of quality exclusives to build up first.

Same here. I've heard people talking about "30 FPS this" and "60 FPS that" for 20 years now, and never once could I tell you the difference between the two while playing.
