Embarrassing Musical Taste

I went down that road when I divulged that I listened to Natalie Imbruglia’s debut album “Left of the Middle”. It was only after finding her song Torn on a soft rock playlist on Apple Music. And c’mon she was really hot and like 21. On one of those lists was that Hanson song and I might have listened to it more than once.

My musical tastes tend to run towards the hard rock and metal side of things for the most part. But I do happen to like other styles of music outside those genres as long as it's done well. And one of those happens to be the soft rock sounds of the late 70's and early 80's. For example, I've been listening to a lot of Paul Davis lately. Particularly the songs off his Cool Nights album. One of those songs, for instance, is a little ditty called "65 Love Affair". It's such a well written and crafted tune with a chorus to die for. It'd be a pretty safe bet that if my metalhead buddies knew I liked this song and style of music, they'd massacre me with incessant laughter. But I don't care. This song is great. So great I listen to it several times a day, as a matter of fact...

Speaking of fruity, have you ever seen the video for Grum's "Into the night"? It's basically a parody of every cop buddy movie or TV show ever made with the fruitiness factor tuned all the way up. It is hilarious. I'd send you a link for it, but it's not exactly family friendly. So much so that back when Much (formerly known as Much Music) would air the video, they'd only air it late at night just so kids wouldn't accidentally see it during the day.
