Review #1: Mario Pinball Land

At first, this looks like a good game, with its awesome graphics and sound.

Yes, this is one of the best looking games on the GBA.

However, the WHOLE game is ruined by bad control.

This is first realized when you hit mario with the flippers, as he suddenly ZOOMS in a seemingly random direction.

Acually trying to make mario get to where you want him to go is VERY difficult, as mario just bounes everywhere.

In fact, he has a tendency to get caught on the wall and spin around the entire table!

The "Ball Saver" somtimes DOSEN'T work, and mario slides off that pipe and falls into the hole!

That is espically a problem when he's moving quickly.

Hitting objects (not enemies) is painful, as you have to hit them hard.

With poor control and the design of some tables, it is simply too difficult.

Getting mario into a small space is painful, as the poor control will usually result in mario bouncing on the edges.

The bosses are also very difficult, as you are often thrown about by their attacks, and you will probaly get thrown out of the table that they are on.

In the later levels, you will have to do a lot of backtracking to get to the boss, but you will just get beaten by the boss again.

The items are also rather overpriced, and you won't get to use them very many times.

And finally, the save system is horrable, because if you forget to save, all of your progress is erased.

Conisdering that you will usually turn the game off in anger, this will happen often.

Overall, this was a game with great pointental ruined by bad control

Score: 3/10

How did I get back here lol. Yeah, the controls weren't perfect, but the game was still very enjoyable, with impressive graphics backing it up. It wasn't perfect, but it was a killer Game Boy Advance game!
