I don't think Jungle Hunt should score so high, it hasn't aged well on the 2600 compared to games like Phoenix and Ms.Pac Man. It is a decent efforts, but there is too much missing and the "ending" is a real anticlimax. No boiling pot, nothing to "save" your girl from, just a tango in the jugle to the beat of "THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHTTTT"...

I never played 'Jungle Hunt' on the arcade when I was a kid, only the Atari 2600 version. I picked up the recently-released 'Taito Arcade Collection' for XBox and what do you know, there's the arcade version of 'Jungle Hunt' included in the disc. Try as I did though, I just didn't feel the fun and excitement of playing the arcade version that I can still get from playing the Atari 2600 cartrdige I still own. Guess your first time really is the greatest!

Your James Bond review proves that this game sucked on all platforms. I used to have the C64 cart and aside from being a poor moon patrol ripoff, this game had nothing to do with the movie other than the theme song and opening graphics.

After trying "Karate" on the Stella emulator, I have to say that a single "LOL!" would have sufficed for a review. That it came out in 1987 and not 1977 makes it the most hilariously awful game ever. Decent for a few chuckles but I seriously pity anyone who paid good money at the time.

I fully agree with the Jungle Hunt review. The game for me, was/is a blast! I mean, this game has a Jungle, Ocean and Land level. Including a boss, an ending.
+ Difficulty levels = Cool.
