These old soccer games are a lot of fun. These are re-reviews but the grades haven't changed much.

Fifa is alright, but.. I'd say the best soccer game back then would be Konami's International Super Soccer, on Super Nintendo.

There seem to be a few of us on the board that agree with this. The Critic should definitely give it a go at some point!

I second Oltobaz International Superstar Soccer Deluxe on Sega's MegaDrive is sweet too.
But I also enjoy FIFA and Sensible Soccer from that era.

Hey, while we're on the soccer tip, I just noticed (or re-noticed) that you don't have a review for World Cup Soccer on Intellivision. Maybe that's worth checking out before the titular event is over? ![[smile]](/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif)
I hope Clive Dempsey is playing in Europe next season he was immense.
I hope he stays in the US now for the rest of his career, and I hope the MLS increasingly attracts top players. As a fan of the sport, the stronger the league and following in the US the better as far as I'm concerned. Their performance against Belgium was genuinely inspiring.

If the England team showed half as much guts and commitment as the USA did against Belgium then perhaps we would still be there. It's encouraging that the viewing figures for the game were so good in the US, hopefully you guys can come and play with the rest of the world and see what a true 'world series' is.
The MLS is definitely growing stronger and the US could become a true force in the global game.

For my part, I hope the Canadian teams in MLS do better than the U.S. ones.
My Mom's hometown (a place I spent a good deal of time in growing up) is the Soccer hungriest place in North America. Here's some information about the team in this little town of 1350 (that stat is almost certainly out of date and larger than the actual number). Soccer is actually huge here in Eastern Newfoundland.
