Dear Critic,
I know you review a lot of games and that it's impossible to hope for coverage of every single game in existence, but I was wondering: why don't you review more indie games? I'd be curious to know your opinion of Braid, Super Meat Boy, and Fez, for example. It's easy for the message to get lost in all the hype, but these three games in particular really are solid, fun games on par with the best 2D games of yesteryear.
Sincerely,
ptdebate

I'd like to see him try MineCraft on the 360. I know, he might not like it, as it's a major time sync, but it's a game where you can be extremely creative.

I don't think he's ever going to do Minecraft, it's not something I can picture him enjoying one bit. I personally think it's a massive waste of time and don't understand the appeal at all.
In general it seems the critic just has very little interest in these types of games and frankly I can understand why, they don't really interest me either.

Indie game reviews?
I hate even bringing it up, in a way - I know the Critic is very busy already and is still trying to dig himself out of a backlog, so don't know when he'd even get to it - but there are definitely some smaller games I'd like him to review.
I haven't played Fez and I never finished Braid (although I liked what I did play of it) but personally think the Critic would LOVE Super Meat Boy. Fast, challenging, bite-sized platforming with super-catchy music and a bunch of unlockable characters that each significantly changed how you played the game; on top of that, the XBLA version got free new content periodically (although I think you had to beat the game in order to access it). I also think he'd really enjoy Hotline Miami (for a lot of the same reasons as Super Meat Boy) and Skullgirls (because it's an excellent 2d fighter with hand-drawn art and silky-smooth animation that plays a lot like Capcom vs Marvel 2). On the other hand, I think he'd hate Minecraft, or at least have no real motivation to play it; open-ended games almost uniformly get poor grades from him, no matter their virtues.
Vexer: What "types of games" are they? In general these games have very little to do with one another, besides the small team size of their developers.
