Now you earned it. Apparently, the requirement was 15,000 points back in the day. Later anthologies probably dropped the score because so many modern gamers are sad little babies.

Oh wow, now I feel like I've earned something! Only thing is, I used the Genesis controller, which of course wouldn't have been an option way back when.

I wouldn't beat myself up over that. I have 3 different versions of joysticks for the 2600 here from that time, as well as paddle controllers, the Star Raiders Pad, and a track ball. The controller options even back then were far more than that, so I don't think any controller (minus rapid fire) really counts as a cheat.

Also, I believe at one point, the PAL version of the 2600 Jr. was packaged thusly:

That would make a joypad once a 2600 system pack in.
