That is pretty sweet, and I completely forgot to mention the ice temple in Ocarina of Time, which sucked, and the ice temple in Twilight Princess , which kicked ass. Although, to be fair the temple in Ocarina wasn't an actual temple, while the temple in Twilight Princess was full length.

I didn't think the OoT Ice Cavern sucked.  Other than that, I'm with ya.

Snow levels are some of my favorites, especially when played in season.  I am currently reviewing the Grinch (Dreamcast), and it has a nice holiday flavor.  The Empire Strikes Back hoth levels are usually pretty good winter action.  But one that sticks out is a snow/holiday themed level in a kart game.  I need to figure out which game it was, but there was snow, decorated trees, and Christmas-sounding music.

The snowy town in Tales of Symphonia...although I can't remember which part of the game it was in and Mario Kart Double Dash as well as Diddy Kong Racing Snow levels.

In no order:

The third stage with the woodland sunset in 1080 Snowboarding - N64.

The ice level in WipEout - PS1, Saturn.

The penguin track in Mario Kart 64.

The ice cavern level in the UT2003 bonus pack.

I thought Flanoir was a bit boring, though it gets bonus points for the Pac-Man cie sculpture.

[QUOTE=Paul Campbell]Actually I usually hate snow worlds, as well as water worlds.  I think it has been way overdone.  It's like the programmers saying, "Ok, now try the game with poor controls and see how you do!"

I can agree to some level on water levels. I always hated water levels in Sonic (I have to breathe?!) and I thought the water temple in the new Zelda was the weakest one (still pretty good though), but I'm not following you on ice levels. Occasionally snow will slow you down, or ice will be slippery, but they don't usually affect gameplay too much. They're great fun to play around Christmas.

It didn't really suck, it just wasn't an actual temple. I was disappointed by that, because I thought I was going to be doing a full temple.

It was one of the many mini-temples in the game, like the Bottom of the Well, and the Gerudo Training Ground.

I like the ones in Yoshi's Island, especially the skiing ones.  And the graphics look so clean and clear when you start the next level and there's no snow falling.

Never speak again! Oh...sorry. Just try doing the secret levels on Yoshi's Island 2 and see if you still say that. One of them has a skiing section that almost made me cry...I'm not kidding.
