Mine is Punch Out for NES...which should have been obvious.

I think most people aged 20+ would agree with you--there has yet to be a better boxing game for any system. I think it's a great testament to the fact that graphics definitely don't make the game.

Simply put Mike Tyson's Punchout! is one of the best sports title ever.
I remember when and I was a little kid and my brother's friend came over and brought over the NES with Punchout! and I was mesmorized on how good the graphics looked (this was back in 1988). The variety of characters were just amazing and the controls were so responsive. There's only really 2 boxing games that I know of that come close to being as fun and they are Super Punch Out! and Fight Night: Round 3.
If Nintendo brings out a new Punchout! for the Wii they got a surefire hit on their hands. I know I'd be buying it the day it comes out.

Best Boxing Games (that I have played)
1. Mike Tyson's Punch Out (NES)
2. Super punch Out (SNES)
3. Victorious Boxers: Ippo's Road to Glory* (PS2)
4. Evander Holyfields' Real Deal Boxing (Genesis)
5. Ready 2 Rumble Boxing (DC)
6. Foes of Ali (3DO)
7. James Buster Douglas Knockout Boxing (Genesis)
I have never played Fight Night Round 3, but from what people say its one of the best. I think its funny that the best games I have played for boxing have been the most unrealistic ones.
*This is a fairly unknown game, but its a great boxing title thats worth tracking down.

The above link is to a video feature that gamespot made called, "The History of Boxing Games." Its a pretty nice video that features editors opinions as well as some remarks from the lead designer of Fight Night Round 3.

The best boxing game I've played is Teleroboxer on the Virtual Boy. Of course the only other ones I've played are Punch Out and Super Punch Out.

I was hoping someone would mention Teleroboxer. For only 20+ games, the VB had an awesome lineup.

The graphics in Punch Outl have a cartoonish charm that still holds up today. You can't improve on perfection! :-)
I think the best boxing game I've ever played besides P.O. was Sierra Championship Boxing for PC.

One boxing game that I really loved on the NES, and still play on the ol' emulator from time to time is Ring King. I don't think it is well remembered but it is one of my personal favorites.
