Why they don't hire me on as a consultant I have no idea.  Don't you think the VGC could turn than company around?
Yes, and then you could hire me as a co-consultant, because if there's anything I know, it's what made Sega great back in the Genesis and Dreamcast days.

Sonic Rush was ok though.  It wasn't genius, but it was interesting.
I agree. I think the series should have went: Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic Chaos, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast), Sonic Advance, and Sonic Rush.  Everything else with the Sonic name and every other spin-off is just weight dragging the series down.  Sonic Rush certainly deserves to be considered part of the real Sonic legacy.
Adventure 2 was pretty great, but it was a major step backwards.

What?  He through a fit because he was pissed they were using HIS graphics engine because HE has an ego so big it hardly fits in his skull.  That's the sad truth he was so petty over a graphics engine he ruined what could have been a great game.  And really it looked to have way more going for it than rivals of the new 360 one did.  Promising game play interesting concepts.  Sadly it was not to be.

LOL -- an ego so big it hardly fits in his skull.  Apt description.

Actually I didn't know any of that.  I was just trying to cut him the benefit of the doubt.  If what you say is true, then it really is too bad.

The problem with Sonic Extreme was that the frame rate was sketchy and the game played pretty slowly.  Basicly the Saturn wasn't capable of doing a fast enough, smooth enough Sonic game in 3D.  Why they didn't use it's impressive 2D prowess to make the best 2D Sonic ever I don't know.

Blue sonic extreme was a 2.5 game, not sure what you saw but it played a lot like klanoa only fast and no grabbing things.

Because they were stupid.  It wasn't like they had an anti-2D rule like Sony, and some of their best games were 2D, so they had few excuses.
We can all agree the 360 Sonic is awful, but what about the PSP game Sonic Rivals?

At first I thought this one had potential.  It nicely mixes 2D gameplay with 3D graphics - an approach I've been advocating for some time.  But sadly, every stage is a race against another character, and this is a major flaw.  For one thing, there's no time to stop and explore the surroundings, which look pretty nice.  Also, there's an emphasis on the "super-speed" sections where you just hold the directional pad right while Sonic goes crazy through loops and corkscrews totally out of your control.

I'm still reviewing this, but it's mediocre at best.  We're talking "D" material here.

Perhaps a 3D Sonic game with the "classic" 2D gameplay would be a good option.  Right now the people at Sega seem utterly clueless.  Why they don't hire me on as a consultant I have no idea.  Don't you think the VGC could turn than company around?

I wouldn't trust you as a consultant but I would definetly be up for the job. First order of business would be to fire the graphics department.

Well, at the very least, can the people who couldn't fix the inexcusibly bad slowdown, pop-up, and load times.  I mean, come on; the Dreamcast Sonic games had none of these problems, and yet the 360 isn't powerful enough to even come close to the performance of Sega's ancient hardware?!
