I loved that game on the N64.  I played it to death.  But I can't speak to multiplayer, as I never really played that part of it.

Gauntlet is one of my favorite games of all time! I've played most versios including G:L , but never multiplayer. Still, most reviews say it kicks butt as multiplayer!

I love Gauntlet II on NES. It's really fun using the NES 4-Score for 4 players.

I have never played the N64 version, but if its just like the dreamcast with slightly watered down graphics its worth the investment.

Gauntlet is multiplayer gold...pretty much any of the games.  I loved Legends and I am currently enjoying Seven Sorrows.  The fun factor of these games double when you add another player into the mix.

If you have a xbox or PS2 I strongly suggest picking up Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows.

Two friends in college played the heck out of that game on the N64.  It wasn't my cup of tea but they loved it.  Pretty much a standard beat 'em up for the umpteenth time and do the same all over again but if you're playing it through with a friend that's where the joy of it comes into play.  By yourself, I don't know that it would be much fun.
