No offense, but that was perhaps the very first video game that pissed me off
. It took me forever to track down one of the first items
you needed to collect, and when I finally did and managed to beat the game (which really isn't anything to write home about to begin with), the ending was just a huge slap in the face. Quite frankly, it might just be one of the worst games I've ever played.
For what I consider better examples, I recommend the Spyro the Dragon trilogy. I'm still waiting for the Critic to review 2 & 3, largely because it's one of my favorite franchises of all time. Another game that comes to mind is "Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Recue". It's one of the better movie tie-in games out there, and a must if you're a Pixar fan.
I was also gonna suggest Glover based on nostalgia alone (which I recently played through on Twitch
), but looking back it feels very
inferior to the original Nintendo 64 version, which IMO is a hidden gem and I'll even admit to being one of my favorite games of all time. If you also happen to own an N64, stick with that one (and I would really
like to see VGC review that one as well).
